Job CONDITIONS

Position Description

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Responsible for receiving e-mail and phone requests for receiving inbound loads and setting/recording appointments on the Toledo Receiving Schedule.Responsible for picking up Driver Dispatch Sheets/Batches from the Shipping Department printer and completing the remainder of the shipping process through obtaining driver signatures and finalizing loads to send on for invoice.Responsible for supporting the Logistics Coordinator/Shipping Lead in preparing and communicating shipment releases/BLs for shipments from outside processors and suppliers/vendors.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support and communicate with the Sales group to meet special customer requirements and on-time deliveries
- Communicate with scheduling and Logistics Coordinators to ensure material will be ready to coincide with truck appointment
- Check daily shipping plan to confirm loads are shipping on-time - Send appropriate paperwork to outside processors and suppliers/vendors for dispatched loads
- Verify outside shipping, reconcile BLs, and close loads in AS400
- Maintain Shipping Schedule - Prepare pick lists for loading operations
- Check in drivers - Verify freight rates from TruckMate transportation system appear on BLs in AS400
- Check out drivers - Obtain signatures on loads/BLs
- Provide BLs copies to Driver (Driver & Customer copies) and to Accounting for invoicing
- Answer the company phone for the whole building since all calls are routed to Shipping
- Produce all rail car BLs and manage all rail shipments
- Prepare all customer pickup BLs for Inside Sales Reps

QUALIFICATIONS (Education, experience, certifications, licences or special skills):
- High school education or equivalent combination of education and experience;
- English spoken and written; previous experience would be an asset.

TOOLS & EQUIPMENT USED ON THE JOB (Computer):
- AS400, MS Word and MS Excel
