Job CRITERIA
Qualifications:
- Associate’s/Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management. Engineering or related fields is a plus.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience with estimating commercial, Heavy civil, DOT, FAA, Government, Dam and Marine projects.
- Ability to read and understand architectural, structural and civil plans.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Construction Link or other estimating software and quantity takeoff software is a plus.
- Must have good record keeping skills, problem solving abilities and communication skills.
- Needs to be self-motivated to meet required deadlines and have keen attention to detail.
- Standard driver’s license is required.

Reports To: Chief Estimator
Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday; Hybrid in office/virtual
Status: Exempt
Job Summary:
Prepare cost estimates for heavy civil construction projects to aid management in bidding on or determining price of a specific scope of work. Project size is typically between $500,000 and $20,000,000 in value.
About Kingsbury:
Kingsbury is an award-winning full-service General Contractor specializing in heavy civil projects throughout New England and New York. The company has experience with renewable energy projects including biomass, landfill gas recovery, solar, and district heating systems, and has also constructed and repaired dams, highways, landfills, and LFG systems. Kingsbury has built wastewater treatment plants and transmission lines for municipalities and developed sites for large tract developers.
Most Kingsbury projects are intricate and detail-oriented, and the company is engaged either as a General Contractor, Construction Manager, or Design-Builder. Because of Kingsbury's strong financial foundation, they enjoy robust bonding capability and self-perform the majority of their work. Kingsbury owns a fleet of heavy equipment including specialized gear for light pressure (LGP) earthwork, global positioning (GPS) layout/grading, and HDPE gas piping fusion welding. They can handle all aspects of a project from providing in-house engineering services, through permits and construction, to startup and commissioning.
Responsibilities and Duties:
· Find projects and maintain a bid schedule with projects that fit the company profile.
· Download bid invites, plans, specifications and create/organize folders as needed.
· Review and analyze bid documents and project requirements to ensure all project requirements can be met in order to put together an actuate and complete estimate/bid.
· Send Questions to Owner/Engineer so that they can be addressed by addendum before deadline.
· Schedule bid reviews with team members.
· Perform and oversee detailed quantity takeoffs.
· Solicit pricing for materials and subcontractors as needed.
· Attend all pre-construction meetings/walkthroughs, site visits, post bid meetings, and client meetings as needed.
· Involved in coordination and handoff to Project Management team.
· Help manage the estimating team.
