Duties and Responsibilities

Your responsibilities

We are currently seeking a 2nd Shift Dispatcher in our Wentzville office. This Dispatcher will coordinate and direct the movement of trucks and freight in order to make pickups and deliveries in an efficient and timely manner.

Key Accountabilities:

• Daily and weekly scheduling for dispatching drivers
• Load monitoring and updating systems
• Equipment management, preventative maintenance, etc.
• Communicate with all Drivers, customers, and suppliers in a professional and courteous manner
• Cultivate strong relationships with drivers and customers to reduce the stress that comes with last minute schedule changes
• Maintain written/computerized records and other forms of information.
• Update Ryder LMS system for GM on a 15-minute basis
• Update GM and Ryder as to when the drivers leave the suppliers and arrive at destination.

Your profile

Minimum Requirements:

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Experience with MS Excel and Word
• Prior experience/exposure to logistics or trucking operations
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and at a fast pace
• Good management skills in making driver assignments and developing cooperation among the team of drivers
• Customer service background
• Ability to multi-task
• Ability to work in fast-paced work environments

Preferred Requirements:

• Dispatch experience
• Knowledge of DOT regulations as they pertain to our trucking environment
